Ingredients

  • ground beef

    1/2 pound · 15% fat

  • onion

    1 1/2 cups · chopped

  • garlic

    1 clove · crushed

  • lentils

    2 cups · cooked, drained

  • tomatoes, low-sodium, diced or crushed

    2 cans · 29 ounce or 2 cans 14 1/2 ounce

  • chili powder

    1 tablespoon

  • cumin, ground

    1/2 teaspoon, optional

Instructions

    Wash hands with soap and water.

    In a large saucepan, brown beef over medium-high heat, breaking it into bite sized pieces. Drain fat.

    Add onion and garlic and cook until softened.

    Add lentils, tomatoes, chili powder, and cumin. Cook for about 1 hour until flavors are blended.
