Correct an AI meal with 'Fix Result' (tell it what's wrong)

Last updated 27. června 2026

When a Nutrola photo or voice scan misjudges your meal, you do not need to re-scan it. Open the meal, tap Fix Result, and type what was wrong in plain language, such as "I only ate half." Tap Update, and Nutrola re-runs the AI analysis on its servers, then updates the calories, macros, and ingredients for you.

Where is the "Fix Result" button?

It is on the meal's result screen, the screen that shows the food name, calories, and macro breakdown right after a scan (or when you open a meal you already logged). At the bottom you will see two buttons side by side: Fix Result on the left and Done on the right.

This works for both a brand-new scan you have not saved yet and a meal you logged earlier and reopened.

How to fix a scan with "Fix Result"

  1. Open the meal you want to correct so the result screen is showing.
  2. Tap Fix Result.
  3. On the next screen ("My bad! Let's get it right"), the text box opens with the prompt "What should I change?". Type what was off in everyday words.
  4. Tap Update.
  5. Nutrola sends you back to the home screen, where the meal shows a brief "recounting" state while the AI reworks it, then the updated calories, macros, and ingredients appear.

You only need to describe the difference, not the whole meal. The AI starts from its existing estimate and adjusts it based on what you tell it.

What kinds of corrections work?

Describe anything the scan got wrong. Examples Nutrola suggests on the screen include:

  • "I only ate half of the portion."
  • "It was a small size, not a large."
  • "It was made with almond milk instead of regular milk."
  • "There was no cheese on the burger."
  • "I added extra avocado."
  • "The salad had no dressing."
  • "It was a diet soda."

You can correct portion eaten, swapped or missing ingredients, size, and toppings all through the same text box.

When should I edit values directly instead?

Fix Result is best when you want the AI to recalculate based on a real-world change. If you already know the exact number you want, you can instead tap a value on the result screen to edit it by hand (for example Edit Calories or Edit Protein), or change the ingredient list directly. See Edit a meal's calories, protein, carbs, or fat by hand and Edit, add, or remove ingredients in a scanned meal.

Note that AI photo and voice meals do not have a portion or serving-size slider, which is why "I only ate half" is phrased as a description for the AI rather than set as a quantity. Why can't I change the serving size of a photo-scanned meal?

A few things to keep in mind

  • The re-analysis runs on Nutrola's servers and produces a new estimate, so you can always fine-tune the result afterward by editing values directly.
  • The change saves to your account and syncs to your other devices on the next refresh, not always instantly. My data isn't syncing
  • If the result still looks off after a fix, you can run Fix Result again, edit the numbers by hand, or delete and re-log the meal. The calorie or macro estimate looks wrong Edit or delete a logged meal
