Is there a minimum or maximum I can set for calories or macros?

Last updated 27. kesäkuuta 2026

Nutrola does not enforce a minimum or maximum on your calorie or macro goals. On the Edit Nutrition Goals screen you can type any number into the Calorie, Protein, Carbohydrates, and Fat fields, and Nutrola saves exactly what you enter. The app does not warn you about very low or very high targets, so it's worth double-checking each value.

Where do I set these limits?

Open Profile/Settings, scroll to the Account section, and tap Edit Nutrition Goals. You'll see four cards, one each for Calorie goal, Protein goal, Carbohydrates goal, and Fat goal. Tap a value (or the pencil icon next to it) to edit it. The keypad is numeric, so you enter plain numbers (grams for the macros, calories for the calorie goal).

Is there a cap or a floor on what I can enter?

No. Nutrola accepts whatever number you type, with no built-in minimum and no maximum, and it does not flag unusually low or high values. A few things to know about how the fields behave:

  • If you leave a field blank or clear it, that goal is treated as 0.
  • The calorie goal is rounded to a whole number when it's saved. Macro values can include decimals.
  • Because there's no validation, a typo (an extra digit, or a missing one) is saved just like any intentional value, so review each field before you leave the screen.

How and when are my changes saved?

Your edits update across the app right away, and Nutrola also saves them to your account automatically about a second after you stop typing. While the keyboard is open you'll see a Cancel and Save bar above it: Save commits the values immediately, and Cancel reverts the field you're editing back to what it was before you started.

If you don't see your new goals reflected elsewhere in the app, see Why didn't my calorie goal change after I updated my weight or goal weight?.

What numbers should I actually use?

That's up to you and your plan. Nutrola's starting numbers are estimates based on your profile, and you're free to override them here. Setting goals that are very low or very high can affect your health, so if you're unsure what targets are right for you, it's a good idea to check with a doctor or registered dietitian.
