Logging exercise and calories burned
Last updated 27. kesäkuuta 2026
In Nutrola, tap the center + in the tab bar and choose Log Exercise. You can describe a workout by voice or text so Nutrola's AI estimates the activity, duration, intensity, and calories, pick an activity type and set its intensity and duration, or tap Manual to enter the calories burned yourself. Each result is an estimate you can edit.
How do I open the exercise logger?
Tap the center + in the bottom tab bar to open the logging menu, then tap Log Exercise. This opens the exercise screen, which starts in voice mode by default. Use the icon in the top right (or the round button at the bottom left) to switch between voice and text at any time.
The three ways to log a workout
1. Describe it by voice or text (AI estimate)
This is the default. Nutrola estimates the activity type, duration, intensity, and calories burned for you.
- Voice: Tap Tap to speak and say what you did, for example "Ran for 30 minutes" or "Lifted weights for an hour." Tap again to stop. Nutrola transcribes your words, shows them back to you so you can confirm or Re-record, then tap Log exercise.
- Text: Switch to text mode and type a description (for example, "30-minute run, 20 push-ups, and a 10-minute stretch"), then tap Log exercise.
After you submit, Nutrola analyzes the description on its servers and saves the workout with an estimated activity name, duration, intensity, and calories burned. As with food, these are estimates you can edit later. How Nutrola's AI calorie counting works
2. Pick an activity and set intensity and duration
Switch to text mode and, while the text box is empty, you will see a Quick log row of activity chips (Run, Strength Training, Walking, Cycling, Swimming, Yoga, Pilates, Dancing, Hiking, Calisthenics, Jump Rope, Boxing, HIIT, Rowing, Sports, and Stair Climbing). Tap one to open its setup screen, then:
- Under Set intensity, choose High, Medium, or Low. Each option shows a short description of what that effort feels like.
- Under Duration, tap a quick value (15, 30, 60, or 90 min) or type a custom number of minutes.
- Tap Continue to save.
Nutrola multiplies a fixed calories-per-minute rate (set by the activity and the intensity you picked) by your duration. Because that rate is a fixed estimate, the result is not adjusted for your weight, age, or other personal factors. Does logging a workout increase my calorie budget?
3. Enter calories burned directly (Manual)
If you already know your calorie burn (for example, from a gym machine or a wearable), switch to text mode and tap the Enter calories manually chip. On the Manual screen, type the number into Calories burned and tap Add. No activity type, intensity, or duration is required.
How does Nutrola calculate calories burned?
- For described workouts (voice or text), Nutrola's AI estimates the calories on its servers based on what you said.
- For picked activities, Nutrola uses a fixed calories-per-minute rate for that activity and intensity, multiplied by your duration.
- For Manual entries, Nutrola uses exactly the number you type.
All three are estimates rather than precise measurements, so treat the calorie figure as a guide and edit it if it looks off. Editing or deleting water, weight, exercise and body-fat entries
Where do logged workouts go?
Saved workouts are stored to your Nutrola account and appear on your day. On iOS, manually logged and AI-described workouts are also mirrored into Apple Health (workouts that were imported from Apple Health are not written back, to avoid duplicates). On Android, there is no Apple Health, so this mirroring does not apply. Sync with Apple Health (iOS) Importing workouts from Apple Health

Editing or removing a workout
