Reminders and notifications

Last updated 27 июня 2026 г.

Nutrola sends gentle reminders to help you stay on track, and you control them in two places. Inside the app, open the Profile/Settings tab, tap Notifications under Preferences, and use the toggles there. Your phone's system permission also has to allow Nutrola notifications, or nothing gets delivered even when the in-app switches are on.

How do I manage reminders in the app?

  1. Open the Profile/Settings tab.
  2. Under Preferences, tap Notifications.
  3. On the Notifications screen you'll see a master switch and individual reminder types.

The master switch is All notifications (described as "Turn every reminder on or off"). Turn it off to silence everything at once. Each individual reminder keeps its own setting, so when you switch the master back on, the categories you had on before come back on and the ones you turned off stay off.

Under Notification types you can toggle each reminder on its own:

  • Meal reminders: an evening nudge if you haven't logged that day.
  • Fasting reminders: alerts around your eating window. These only apply when you have an active fasting plan; the screen shows "Turns on once you start a fasting plan" until then. Setting up intermittent fasting
  • Water reminders: a few gentle nudges to help you reach your water goal. How to track water intake

For more on each reminder and what triggers it, see What reminders does Nutrola send and when?. To switch off only the fasting alerts, see How do I turn off just fasting (or just water) reminders?.

Why does my device permission matter?

The in-app switches are Nutrola's own controls. They can only work if your phone is allowed to show Nutrola notifications at the system level. If that system permission is off, nothing is delivered no matter how the in-app toggles are set.

The Notifications screen handles this for you:

  • If you haven't decided yet, turning on a reminder prompts your phone to ask for notification permission.
  • If you've already denied notifications, the screen shows a banner ("Notifications are off") with a shortcut that opens your device Settings so you can turn them back on for Nutrola.

If you previously tapped "Don't Allow," see I tapped 'Don't Allow' on notifications - how do I fix it? for how to re-enable it.

I'm not getting notifications. What should I check?

  • Confirm the in-app switches are on: Profile/Settings → Notifications, with All notifications on plus the specific reminder you want.
  • Confirm your phone allows Nutrola notifications in your device's system settings. The exact path varies by phone and OS version, but it's generally under your device Settings for the Nutrola app.
  • Make sure Do Not Disturb or a Focus mode isn't silencing them.
  • For fasting reminders, make sure you have an active fasting plan; without one, those reminders don't fire.

Common situations have their own articles: no meal reminder today (Why didn't I get a meal reminder today?), water reminders stopping (Do water reminders stop once I hit my goal?), and the "We miss you" message after a few inactive days (What is the 'We miss you' notification?).

Meal reminders are tied to your daily logging, so keeping your logging habit also helps your streak. How streaks work
