I tapped 'Don't Allow' on notifications - how do I fix it?

Last updated 27. Juni 2026

If you tapped "Don't Allow," your phone blocks Nutrola from asking again, so the app can't re-prompt you from inside the app. Instead, re-enable notifications for Nutrola in your device's system Settings. When you return to Nutrola, it automatically re-checks the permission and registers your device so reminders can be delivered.

Why can't Nutrola just ask me again?

Notification permission is controlled by your phone's operating system, not by Nutrola. After you decline the system prompt once, both iOS and Android stop letting an app re-show it. The toggles inside Nutrola are only the app's own on/off switches, so even with them set to on, nothing can be delivered while the system permission is denied. That's why the fix has to happen in your device Settings.

Fix it from inside Nutrola (easiest)

  1. Open Nutrola and go to Profile/Settings.
  2. Tap Notifications to open the Notifications screen.
  3. At the top you'll see a banner titled "Notifications are off" with the message "Turn on notifications for Nutrola in your device Settings to get reminders."
  4. Tap the Settings button on that banner. Because the permission is already denied, this deep-links straight to your device's Settings for Nutrola.
  5. Turn notifications on for Nutrola, then return to the app.

When you switch back to Nutrola, it re-checks the system permission as soon as it returns to the foreground, so the "Notifications are off" banner disappears once permission is granted.

Re-enable it directly in device Settings

If you'd rather go straight to your phone's settings, the exact path varies a little by operating system version, but it's generally:

  • iOS: open the Settings app, scroll to Nutrola (or find it under Settings > Notifications), then turn Allow Notifications on.
  • Android: open Settings > Apps > Nutrola > Notifications and turn notifications on.

Then reopen Nutrola so it can register your device for delivery.

What happens after I grant permission?

Once the system permission is granted, Nutrola registers this device so it can receive push notifications. After that, make sure the in-app switches are on too: on the Notifications screen, turn on All notifications (the master switch) and then the individual categories you want, such as Meal reminders, Fasting reminders, and Water reminders. Note that Fasting reminders only do anything once you've started a fasting plan; until then that row shows "Turns on once you start a fasting plan." Reminders and notifications What reminders does Nutrola send and when?

I granted permission but still see no reminders

Give it a moment and fully close and reopen Nutrola so it re-checks permission and registers the device. Then confirm the master All notifications switch and the specific category are both on. If you're expecting a meal reminder specifically, there are normal reasons it might not fire on a given day. Why didn't I get a meal reminder today?
