What reminders does Nutrola send and when?
Last updated 27. Juni 2026
Nutrola sends meal reminders (an 8 PM nudge if you haven't logged that day, plus a 10 PM follow-up once your streak reaches 7 days), water reminders (10:00, 15:00, and a 19:30 "so close" nudge), fasting reminders around your eating window, and an occasional we-miss-you nudge. You can turn each on or off in Settings.
Meal reminders
Meal reminders are designed to protect your streak, so Nutrola only nudges you when you actually need it.
- 8 PM reminder: If you have not logged a meal yet that day, Nutrola sends a reminder at 8 PM. As soon as you log a meal, that day's reminder is cancelled, so you won't get it if you've already logged.
- 10 PM last-chance nudge: Once your streak is 7 days or longer, Nutrola adds a second, stronger reminder at 10 PM on days you still haven't logged. Shorter streaks don't get this second nudge.
The reminder copy adapts to your streak (for example, a special message the night before you'd hit a 7, 30, or 100-day milestone). You can turn these off under Settings → Notifications → Meal reminders.
If a meal reminder didn't arrive when you expected, see Why didn't I get a meal reminder today?. To learn how streaks and milestones work, see How streaks work and Streak milestone rewards (7, 30, 100 days).
Water reminders
Water reminders are a few gentle nudges to help you reach your daily water goal. They fire at most three times a day:
- 10:00 (morning)
- 15:00 (afternoon)
- 19:30 (evening "so close" nudge), which only fires once you've passed about 70% of your water goal, so you're never told you're almost there when you're behind.
Once you reach your daily water goal, Nutrola stops sending water reminders for the rest of the day. Water reminders also need a water goal to be set, and only future times for the current day are scheduled. You'll find the toggle under Settings → Notifications.
For more, see Do water reminders stop once I hit my goal? and How to track water intake.
Fasting reminders
Fasting reminders only apply while you have an active intermittent fasting plan. If you don't have a fasting plan running, no fasting reminders are sent. When a plan is active, Nutrola can send daily reminders around your eating window:
- When your eating window opens (your fast is complete)
- 30 minutes before your eating window opens
- When your eating window closes (your fast starts)
- 30 minutes before your eating window closes
Which of these you get depends on your fasting notification settings. These repeat daily on their own, so you don't have to reopen the app. Turn them on or off under Settings → Notifications → Fasting reminders (this toggle becomes active once you start a fasting plan).
See Setting up intermittent fasting and How do I turn off just fasting (or just water) reminders?.
We-miss-you reminder
If you haven't opened Nutrola for a while, you may get an occasional "We miss you" nudge encouraging you to come back and log. The exact timing is managed on Nutrola's servers. For details, see What is the 'We miss you' notification?.
Turning reminders on or off
All reminders live under Settings → Notifications, where you'll find:
- All notifications, a master switch to turn every reminder on or off
- Meal reminders
- Water reminders
- Fasting reminders
You can mix and match these to keep only the reminders you want. If you're not getting any notifications at all, your device may have denied permission to Nutrola; see I tapped 'Don't Allow' on notifications - how do I fix it?. For a broader overview, see Reminders and notifications.
A note on timing: reminders are scheduled in your phone's local time, and delivery depends on your device having notification permission granted.
