Which day does a late-night meal count toward?
Last updated 2026년 6월 27일
In Nutrola, a meal counts toward the calendar day you log it on, measured in your device's local time zone. A meal saved at 11:50 PM counts toward that day, and one saved just after midnight counts toward the next day. The date and time are set automatically when you log, so late-night meals land on the correct day.
How does Nutrola decide which day a meal belongs to?
When you log a meal, Nutrola automatically stamps it with the current date and time from your phone. To group meals into days, streaks, and daily totals, it uses your device's local time zone and the calendar day that timestamp falls on. There is no separate "cutoff hour" you set, the boundary is simply midnight on your phone's clock.
- A meal logged at 11:50 PM on Monday counts toward Monday.
- A meal logged at 12:10 AM counts toward the new day (Tuesday), not the night before.
- If you travel and your phone changes time zones, day boundaries follow your device's current time zone.
This is the same for both iOS and Android.
Can I log a meal for a different day?
Yes. The Home screen has a horizontal date strip near the top, with the current day labeled Today. Tap another day in that strip first, then log your meal, and it will be saved to the day you selected instead of the current one. When the selected day is in the past, Nutrola records the meal at the current time of day on that earlier date so it still sorts sensibly among your other entries.
If a meal already landed on the wrong day, you can remove it and re-log it on the right day. See Edit or delete a logged meal for how to delete an entry.
Do streaks and daily totals use the same day?
Yes. Your daily calorie and macro totals, your weekly chart, and your logging streak all follow the same local calendar day. A meal logged before midnight counts toward that day's streak, and one logged after midnight counts toward the next day. For how streaks are kept and protected, see How streaks work and Streak freezes (snowflakes): how they protect your streak.
For the basics of logging itself, see How to log a meal.
